Privacy
Short version: for the waitlist we keep your email, and a few things needed to run it fairly. We do not sell it. You can leave or delete everything yourself.
The waitlist
- Your email, to tell you when your spot opens.
- What you want Buddy to teach you, only if you choose to type it.
- A consent record: when you agreed, which wording (version
v1-2026-10: “Email me when my spot opens. I can unsubscribe any time.”), and a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. The hash is used to limit abuse and to stop people crediting themselves for referrals. - Your referral link and position, and how many friends joined with your link.
- Your browser remembers a referral code (
buddy_ref) if you arrived through a friend's link, and your own spot, on your device only.
Who handles it
- Our email provider sends the emails you ask for.
- If switched on, privacy-friendly analytics counts page views and button clicks without cookies or personal profiles.
- If switched on, a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs on the form.
Unsubscribe or delete
Every email has an unsubscribe link and a link to delete your data. Or type your email here and we will send you a deletion link. The answer is the same whether or not the address is on the list.

What Buddy itself sends (the app, not this site)
When Buddy needs to see, it sends a screenshot of the one window you are working in to an AI vision service (Google Gemini, with Groq as backup). Windows that look private (passwords, banking, sign-in) are skipped. Your questions go to DeepSeek. Voice and the “Hey Buddy” wake word are processed on your PC, and the wake word can be switched off. Sending, deleting and paying always need your yes. We are not claiming that nothing leaves your computer, because some things do.
